What do you do while gaming?

Just curious as what everyone does while they're busy gaming. I either listen to music or watch tv series on my laptop, sometimes I'll listen to a podcast. What about you?

This hugely depends on what kind of game I play. If it's a more action oriented game, then I listen to music most of the times. However, if it's a game that needs less concentration, for example hearthstone, then I learn japanese while playing. That may sound a little hard, but I've found it to be quite a good way to spend my time with something that is important to me, while still being able to play games. This also works really well when playing Final Fantasy games that you've beaten before, because you can use the multiple hours of cutscene material to learn.

I completely immerse on the game when I am playing it. I turn off all the distractions in front of me while the game is in session, especially if it is an online game. However, once the game enters a loading screen, I grab a sandwich or check my email. If it takes too long (match making), I pace around and load a video in the background.

I game and I watch something in the corner of my eye (Tv, Anime) whatever to keep my peripherals entertained while I slaughter a boss that takes 20 minutes to kill. Nothing like watching a full episode and maintaining aggro on a boss 100% while I'm being healed. But it's doable.

hmm, talk to people on headset and real life, watch shows, maybe I might snack on something. Depends if I'm playing RPGs, MOBAs, or FPS.

Well before I game, I get all the essentials like everything I am going to need for lets say oh, the next few hours at least. A little munchy food, drink, phone & hope the phone does not go off and interrupt me.

Once immersed in a good RPG I kind of tune everything else but if it is a game like Magic the gathering or any other turn based game, I usually surf the internet like right now. I am playing Magic 2014 with a friend and typing here on my off-turn. Oh multi tasking.

Shimus that picture made me laugh so hard I posted it on my Facebook :p

It depends on the game I'm playing. Most of the time I'm just focused on the game, but if it's something mindless like the SIMS I listen to music.

Unless it's something dumb like fruit ninja or something, I usually try and focus on the game. I find that doing other stuff while playing games (like listening to podcasts or whatever) gets distracting and I can't focus on either the game or the music

I agree that it depends on the game. In a game with a lot of downtime I'm usually majorly distracted. When I play hearthstone I usually do a million other things, like chores, homework, browse the web, watch a stream or listen to music. Some games really suck me in though, when that happens there is no time for anything else.

I know exactly what you mean. Although I think there's a zone where you're perfectly focused on both, you just need to find the right music for the game.

Gosh... Sometimes I stream on twitch. Usually I'm always on my guilds vent server talking to my guildies. If I'm not streaming I usually have a nice cold adult beverage to keep me company haha. other then that nothing much.

I am usually too caught up in the game to think about other things. I am what you would consider and addictive gamer. When I do find a game I want to play, I play endlessly for about 2-3 days until the game is beaten. However, I do my best not to let this addiction control my life, which is why I will only play until beaten-- then I pick back up like a month or so later for trophies.

Nowadays I like to listen to youtube uploads, podcasts, audio-book, or downloaded mp3 programs while I play video games. I like to learn new things while being entertained too, it's like video games act as a rewards system for my audio learning sessions. Sometimes I play and listen to music, but I don't if a video game has good music to listen to already.

Pretty much me, and sub in mary J for the "cold adult beverage". Throw in some anime and tv shows and I'm a happy camper.

The only time I ever do any gaming is when I visit my aunt. She has a really sweet game room that's awesome for gaming.

I guess the only thing I really do is get comfortable and have a bottle of water handy (I'm a big water drinker).

If I'm hungry I might get a snack or something.

Depends on what I'm playing! If it's a game like The Last of Us or Dishonored, I have to concentrate on what I'm playing. But if it's something like Fall Out 3 or something similar, and I'm just putzing around in game, I'll either listen to my music or put on a show in the background.

Depends on the game, if it's a immersive game like bioshock or shadow of mordor, then I'll turn off my lights and turn my speakers up. If it's an MMO or FPS then I'm normally talking to friends or browsing the web doing homework.

If its a game that mainly focuses on the story like The Last of Us or The Evil Within then I want to get rid of as many distraction as possible so that I'm more immersed in the game and don't miss anything. But if the game is something like Warframe or I've completed the game before then I tend to listen to music or sometimes put a TV series on.

When im playing games I tend to listen to my rock music (Hollywood Undead, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin etc) or I tend to talk to my mates on skype while were in the same game lobby. It all depends on what mood im in.

If you were playing Minecraft on the same server it would be nice to have a headset hooked up to skype so you could keep up with each other in the game and communicated better.

Anyone ever done that?
